Serve Goes National as Our Robots Roll Into Chicago

By Ali Kashani, CEO and Co-founder
Serve delivery robots are heading to the Windy City! Today we announced that Chicago will be the fifth city to experience our friendly autonomous sidewalk delivery.
The Chicago launch marks our first expansion into the Midwest, making Serve a nationwide brand. It’s funny to think that less than a year ago, we were only in LA! Since then we’ve grown to bring autonomous delivery to Miami, Dallas-Forth Worth and Atlanta.
This latest move is also our first time up North, and we’ll be up and running in time for one of those famous Chicago winters. Thankfully, our robots are built to handle all kinds of weather and are fully prepared to brave snowy conditions to deliver hungry Chicagoans their deep dish and Italian beefs.

I want to thank city officials, who have been fantastic to work with as we get set up. Our autonomous deliveries will start in fourteen neighborhoods, including Austin, Belmont Cragin, Dunning, East Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, Lake View, Lincoln Park, Little Italy, Logan Square, Near North Side, Near West Side, Uptown, West Garfield Park and West Town. As we grow, we’ll continue to partner with local government, businesses and communities to ensure a safe and successful rollout.

A Serve delivery robot named Joel rolls past the Shake Shack on Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s Loop, showcasing how autonomous delivery is expanding across one of the city’s busiest pedestrian corridors.

Joel continues its delivery route near the Michigan Avenue Bridge with Chicago’s architecture visible in the background.

Joel moves along the Chicago Riverwalk entrance where city flags and bridge details help mark the location.

Joel navigates a busy downtown intersection beneath Chicago’s elevated L tracks highlighting its ability to operate in active urban environments.
